MILAN: Zlatan Ibrahimovic surpassed 500 goals with the club in his career with two goals as AC Milan retained the top spot in Serie A with a 4-0 win over Crotone.
“It’s hard to avoid the shock of Ibrahimovic,” Milan coach Stefano Pioli said of the 39-year-old, who is currently leading the team for the first ‘Scudetto’ title since 2011.
Milan are back two points ahead of challengers from the same city, Inter Milan who previously won 2-0 against Fiorentina on Friday.
Defending champions Juventus are now five points behind in third place after beating Roma 2-0 yesterday.
The squad from the capital is now fourth, equal to Lazio who beat Cagliari 1-0.
Ibrahimovic opened the scoring after half an hour at the San Siro after joining Rafael Leao for the 500th goal with nine different clubs.
And the Swedish added a 501st goal in the 64th minute, completing Theo Hernandez’s cross for the 83rd minute goal for Milan.
Ibrahimovic made an impressive 22-year stint after making his debut in a professional career with Swedish club Malmo, scoring his first goal in October 1999.
